The World Championship Team Challenge event is a chance for players to pair up in a fun scramble format. The 9-hole event will be an 8:30 a.m. shotgun on Tuesday, July 28.
Course:
Registration:
- Invitations will be emailed to all registered World Championship participants on June 10, 2015. Registration will open June 12, 2015, at 10:01 a.m. ET. Registration is on a first-come, first- serve bases and will be limited to the first 56 teams. Players must be signed up for the World Championship to be eligible to compete in the Team event.
Cost:
- Entry fee of $150.00 includes greens fees for two players, tee gift, awards, golf cart and lunch.
Start time:
- 8:30 a.m. shotgun. Starting hole will be listed on the scorecard and cart sign.
Format
- Two-Person Scramble – All players will tee off from the teeing ground at the designated tee color for the age group. The two-person team will select the best tee shot. Each member of the team may then hit from the chosen position. This procedure is repeated until the ball is holed.
Rules:
- Players must place their ball within one club length of the shot selected, no nearer to the hole.
- Players ball must remain in the same condition as the shot selected, i.e. fairway, rough, or sand.
- USGA Rules will govern all play, except where modified by local rules.
Team Guidelines:
- A Team is comprised of two World Championship participants. The Team members must be in the same Age Group category for the event. Click here to view a listing of the Age Groups.
- Each team member must have a Caddie with a valid driver’s license to operate the golf cart.
Yardages:
- Click here for target yardages based on age group.
Awards:
- Trophies will be presented to 1st and 2nd place in each age group.
Tiebreaker:
- U.S. Kids Golf Scorecard Playoff will be used to break ties for all awards. Winners will be determined on the basis of the team score on the last nine holes, last six holes, last three holes and finally the last hole. If the teams are still tied, continue backwards from the last hole until a winner is determined. (The “last nine holes, last six holes, etc.” is considered to be 10-18, 13-18, etc.)
