State Invitationals
Designed to bridge the gap between Local Tours and Regional Championships, State Invitationals are two-day events for boys and girls, ages 5 to 14.
At State Invitationals, age groups are set up similar to local tours with players competing at slightly longer yardages. 18-hole divisions will include Boys 9 through Boys 13-14 and Girls 11-12 and Girls 13-14, with the younger age groups playing 9 holes each day.
Players competing in State Invitationals can also begin building a national ranking, as Junior Golf Scoreboard awards points to players competing in qualifying fields. In most cases, boys 11 and older and girls 13 and older are recognized by Junior Golf Scoreboard, provided the yardage played is greater than 4500 yards and not shorter than the forward most USGA rated tees. Priority Status will also be on the line, as top finishers in each age division can earn status and invitations to other U.S. Kids Golf multi-day events (Regional Championships, European Championship, World Championship and World Teen Championship).
In addition to Junior Golf Scoreboard rankings, an AJGA Performance Star is also awarded to each of the champions in the Girls 11-12, Boys 12, Boys 13-14, and Girls 13-14 age groups.
Each State Invitational will have its own invitation schedule. These schedules can be found on each event's Registration Information page.
