U.S. Kids Golf returns to the Wigwam for the 17th year! The Wigwam Experience is unique among the Regional Schedule, and provides an exceptional stay and play experience. Wigwam has earned some of the golf industry’s most prestigious accolades including Golf Magazine’s “Silver Medal Award” and Golf Digest’s “Top Resort Course in Arizona”. It’s no wonder the Wigwam is considered one of the top golf resorts, not only in the Phoenix area but the entire country as well.

It’s the only golf resort near Phoenix, Arizona to boast three Championship courses – two of which were designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. The famed Gold Course is consistently ranked among the nation’s finest golf courses. It offers nearly twice the acreage as most desert courses built today. The Blue Course, formerly known as the Patriot, is also designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and roughly follows the hole routing of the original Wigwam golf course.

Tournament Age Date & Priority Status Info

The Tournament Age Date for the 2025 Desert Shootout is February 15th. This will determine a player's age group for the duration of the event. Priority Status earned from this event will be active from May 16, 2025 through May 15, 2026. For more information, visit our Priority Status homepage.

Rankings & AJGA PBE

Junior Golf Scoreboard and the American Junior Golf Association Performance Based Entry recognize the Desert Shootout as a ranked event for Boys and Girls 11 and up.

Official Practice Round

Please Note:The week of the event, there will be no junior rounds allowed at Wigwam prior to Friday. The Official Practice Round Fee for Friday, February 21st is included in your entry fee. You will be able to book your tee time for the Official Practice Round online, 30 days prior to the event. The online booking link will be made available here and emailed out to all players. Please do not call the pro shop to book times for Friday, February 21st.
