Holiday Classic 2015
For the fourth year, U.S. Kids Golf will end the season in south Florida at the Holiday Classic. Home of the "Bear Trap" and the PGA TOUR's Honda Classic, PGA National Resort & Spa has championship courses and resort amenities the entire family can enjoy. Palm Beach Gardens can be accessed by three major airports (Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Miami), making travel plans easy for this golf trip and holiday getaway. Don't forget about the Holiday Classic Parent/Child. This is a great opportunity for parents to team up with their young player in a fun stroke-play format. The 18-hole event will be an 8:30 a.m. shotgun on Sunday, December 20, 2015 on the Squire Course. Registration for the Parent/Child is now open!
Palmer Course
Named after its designer, Arnold Palmer, this course is one of the more forgiving at PGA National from tee to fairway and known as a risk reward course. The open fairways and larger "Champion Bermuda" greens can be quite accommodating and invite players to take a chance if they dare as golfers are not overly penalized for missing the fairway or primary rough on most holes. There is a considerable amount of undulation through the fairway presenting the opportunity for uneven lies and creative shot making. The Palmer has a great series of finishing holes, with the 18th being one of the most scenic and picturesque par 5's on the property.
Fazio Course
Designed by Tom and George Fazio, the Fazio Course was the first to open for play at PGA National Resort & Spa. Fazio's goal in designing this spectacular choice among Palm Beach golf clubs was to create an outstanding quality course that would be playable for all types of golfers. The major design factor relates to the location of water hazards. There are no crossing water hazards meaning no forced carries eliminating a major obstacle for the high handicap golfer and creating a more relaxing experience. At 6,806 yards, the Fazio is the third-longest course at PGA National and has the highest difficulty rating from the standard men's (white) and ladies' (red) tees. Both the 9th and 18th holes return to the clubhouse area, allowing play to start from the 1st and 10th tees making the Fazio Course a convenient choice for 9-hole play in the afternoon.
