Location Information for British Kids Championship 2021
Woodhall Spa is situated in the middle of Lincolnshire, approximately 25 miles from the East Coast. The Village’s history goes back to Victorian times when tourists traveled from all over the country by steam train to take advantage of the healing waters. It is now a fantastic tourist location with many different types of places to stay from hotels, B & Bs, lodges, caravan, and camps sites. It is a vibrant village, full of cafes and restaurants, lovely walks, and things to do:
Activities
Jubilee Park is a very popular destination for locals and visitors alike, especially in the summer months when the heated outdoor swimming and paddling pools are open. Other park amenities and attractions include a camping and caravanning site, a children's playground, ball games, a picnic area, bowling, croquet, cricket, putting, tennis, a cafe and cycle hire.
The Kinema in the Woods, known as the 'The Flicks in the Sticks' during the Second World War, was converted from a cricket pavilion in 1922 by Captain Allport. Today with its unique back projection, and the opening of a second screen in 1994, you can catch all the latest movies, as well as some timely classics.
The Village of Woodhall Spa is at the heart of what is often referred to as 'Bomber' County. By the final months of the 2nd World War the RAF and USAAF had 49 operational airfields in the county of Lincolnshire. The majority of these bases have long since closed, but in recent years several have become the home for aviation heritage centres or the site for Squadron memorials. In addition, The Woodhall Spa Town War Memorial and Dambusters Memorial honor fallen heroes from both World Wars.
There are a variety of interesting routes for walkers in and around Woodhall Spa. The Viking Way and Water Rail Way pass through the village. Woodhall Spa Scouts can be seen on the Spa Trail, a disused railway line running between Woodhall Spa and Horncastle. Woodhall Spa lies in the centre of the County of Lincolnshire. Within 20 miles are a number of interesting market towns and the historic City of Lincoln.
